This is the last episode, seriously, that’s it, no more episodes. We are done, at least with this Season. Sorry, I was so sure that things were going to finish last week and then we got that cliffhanger… I’m just trying to convince myself that it’s done and that’s a real shame as on the whole, ‘What If..?’ was just brilliant to watch. There were a couple of moments where things fell flat but it was the perfect antidote to the slight disappointment of ‘Loki’ (there, I said it!) and as far as I’m concerned, they can do as many new Seasons of ‘What If…? as they like. I’ll watch them all. But that’s for the future. Right now, lets take a look at this last episode and what happens when the Watcher breaks his oath. Apart from the zombie episode (of course), I try not to spoil myself about what next week’s episode will be. The surprise makes it a nice way to start a Wednesday 😊 So seeing ‘What If… Ultron Won?’ pop up on the screen was  a nice little surprise but at the same time, I was a little underwhelmed if I’m being honest. After all… Don’t we all know what would happen if Ultron won? There would be nothing left as Ultron would have destroyed it all. Everything would be ‘scorched earth’ but on the up side, I guess it would be peaceful… On the whole though ‘What If…?’ hasn’t let me down yet (well, apart from the ‘Killmonger Episode’ but you can’t win them all) so of course I was always going to give ‘What If… Ultron Won?’ a shot and see how it went. The great thing about this series (well, one of many great things…) is that even if you have a dud episode, you get to start all over again the following week with a clean slate. No worrying about where the story is going to go next because they’re all stand-alone 😊 Last week’s ‘Killmonger’ episode was a dud, for me anyway , but no worries, this week I got to find out what happened if Thor had been an only child… Wait, what? It’s not exactly the most inspiring, or intriguing, title ever, is it? Give it a chance though, this could very well be the best ‘What If…?’ episode yet… Obligatory spoiler warning time. It wasn't how I'd seen today going but sometimes that's just the way it happens and you just have to go along with it... Sometimes you just get a day where you start off by watching 'What If...' and finish by watching 'Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings', and it's the best ;o) Quick thoughts only, on both, I'm afraid. The episode does everything it needs to and it does it all pretty well, no complaints there. Nope, what got me here was that it all boiled down to Killmonger doing more or less what he did in 'Black Panther' only with a slight detour to take in some Tony Stark. You know me by now, I’m the first to admit that I’m a bit rubbish at remembering when my favourite shows are on and that’s why my ‘TV posts’ rarely appear on the same day as the show is broadcast. That’s just the way it goes, so long as I watch it in the end then it's all good. That wasn't the case this week though. The second I knew that we were getting 'Marvel Zombies' (in some form) then it was like the date just crept into the back of my head and stayed there until this morning when it burst through to the front of my head and demanded all the attention. What? I love zombies and I really enjoyed reading Kirkman's 'Marvel Zombies' back in the day (might even be time for a re-read now). For obvious reasons (Ahem! Disney...), we were never going to get the full 'Marvel Zombies' experience as a 'What If...?' episode but what we get here is close enough and a lot of fun. So today was going to be a ‘What I’ll be reading in September’ post until I remembered that today was also ‘What If…?’ day. You will have to wait until tomorrow then to find out what September’s reading will look like. Today, I’m all about Doctor Strange, rash decisions and how you are likely going to feel when you’ve finished this episode. It’s been a hell of a week this week, who would have thought that giving a cat insulin injections could be so traumatic for all concerned…? Not me but I learned, oh did I learn… But anyway. What with everything, the fact that it was suddenly Wednesday totally escaped my attention until Twitter started to make noises about it being ‘What If…?’ time again. I feel like I’ve earned this one… 😉 As always, the title is a massive spoiler for what the story is about but what do you expect from a show like this? 😉 The good news though is that the title doesn’t give away too much more than that and there is a lot more going on here than you’d think. After being a little bit disappointed by 'Loki' (sorry but I was...), all it took was one episode of 'What If?' to have me fall in love with the MCU all over again. Which is really ironic given that the events of 'Loki' set the scene for all these 'What Ifs' to play out across this suddenly expanding multiverse. Basically, it really doesn't take a lot to get me back on side; I'm easily swayed ;o) All of a sudden then, this week's 'What If...?' was suddenly a 'must see' thing and that was pretty much the first thing I did when I got back after a day's book-shopping and museum visiting (which was lovely, by the way, but that's another post entirely). Being completely honest, I had totally forgotten that there was a ‘What If…?’ series headed our way. I mean, I knew on some level, I just wasn’t expecting it to debut yesterday. Which is weird because I’ve really been looking forward to this series in particular; I know, I say that about all the MCU series but this one is going to have zombies in it (at some point) so it was always right up there in the anticipation stakes. It was with more than a little surprise then that I saw hashtags start to appear all over my Twitter feed, yesterday, and I realised that I’d been caught out again, another series has started without me 😊 That’s easily remedied though… Once I’d sorted out all my work for the day, I sat down and had a watch. Being that the whole point of the series is pivotal moments that send history in a different direction, the big spoiler is in the title but I’m not going to promise that there won’t be more spoilers to come. With 'Loki' concluding next Wednesday, it's way past time for me to start looking ahead and eagerly anticipating what comes next. Unless there's anything else in the meantime (I don't think there is but it's not like I'm never wrong...), the next piece of MCU that we're getting is 'What If...?' and I am completely up for it, especially the bits with the zombies... You're never going to be able to get away from the sneaking suspicion that all the good stuff has gone in the trailer but when it all looks like this, I'm very hopeful for all the bits that never made the 'Trailer Cut'. Early highlights include Captain Carter (or course) and also the Marvel Zombies, I loved those books... ;o) 'What If...?' will be showing on Disney+ in August, which actually isn't that far off now...
