Early Blurb for 'The Splintered Sun' by Tad Williams (To be published in October 2026)

I was doing a spot of Christmas shopping, on Amazon, and came across this blurb; 'The Splintered Sun' won't arrive until October next year but I thought it was worth sharing in the meantime... ;o) From the much-loved, Sunday Times bestselling author comes a thrilling new tale set in the legendary world of Osten Ard. This fast-moving adventure follows bandit and chieftain Flann Alderwood - a mythic, swashbuckling figure whose name is whispered across the realm-and his band of misfit rebels as they navigate a kingdom menaced by dark sorcery and war. With the old King of Hernystir's health failing, warlords carve up the land and rival factions clash over the rightful heir. Into this chaos steps Flann, joined by allies both noble and common, to help the King's one legitimate heir claim his father's blessing and restore stability. But enemies, human and inhuman, stalk their every move, determined to end Flann's quest before it begins. Packed with action, unforget...

Tad Williams' 'Brothers of the Wind' gets a blurb...

Shamelessly 'borrowed' from The Wertzone ... :o) Thanks Adam! I've still to finish 'Empire of Grass' (I know...) but I'm still a fan of Tad Williams, and Osten Ard, so any mention of new books gets me all excited and feeling like this Monday isn't such a bad day after all. This isn't just mention of a new book though, it's mention of a new book with accompanying blurb... This Monday really isn't such a bad day after all :o) While 'The Heart of what was Lost' bridges the gap between the two trilogies, 'Brothers of the Wind' is about as 'Prequel' as you can get; being set a thousand years before the events of 'The Dragonbone Chair' and the events of its sequels. It tells a tale that we've all encountered before but perhaps never really heard... Pride often goes before a fall, but sometimes that prideful fall is so catastrophic that it changes history itself. Among the immortal Sithi of Osten Ard, none are more be...

Free Doctor Who Stories From Big Finish...

Image
If there is anything good coming out of all this mess, it's seeing people be a little more kind to each other and genre fandom is no different. I found this via Tor.com , I'm going to use it and if you're a Doctor Who fan then you should too :o) The long and short of it is that Big Finish will be making one of their Doctor Who audiobooks free each week for the next eight weeks (starting yesterday). All you need to do is register for a free Big Finish account on their website and then keep an eye open Here for whatever book is free on any given week. It actually is that simple. First up is the 'War Doctor' tale, 'The Innocent'... As the Daleks mass their time fleet for a final assault on Gallifrey, something ancient is waiting for them at Omega One. And a sacrifice must be made. Arch-manipulator and Time Lord strategist, Cardinal Ollistra receives shock news of the Doctor’s death. Meanwhile, on the planet Keska, a parochial war has returned to ...

Train To Busan 2, 'Peninsula' Trailer...

Image
It's been ages since I posted a video clip on a blog, lets see if I can do it here... I love 'Train to Busan' (review Here ) and have always secretly... ok, not so secretly hoped for a sequel. And now here it is, 'Peninsula'... How cool does that look? If you're a fan of zombie movies then you know this looks cool and you can't wait to see it, just like me ;o) Initial impressions? It looks a bit like 'Land of the Dead' only more so with more happening in this one clip than happened in all of that film. Definite 'Mad Max' vibe as well with all the apocalyptic car chases. I'm in :o) I don't know when 'Peninsula' is on release but I'll be there to watch it. How about you?

I saw this on Twitter, last night, and thought it would be worth sharing :o) I do love me some Angry Robot and can pretty much guarantee that there's a book of theirs just waiting for you to pick it up and enjoy it. The site is Here  (but you knew that already...), you don't need me to tell you what to do next...
