‘Pompeii’ (2014)

I n 79 A.D., Pompeii, a bustling port city, stands in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius. Milo (Kit Harington), a former slave, is a gladiator who has caught the eye of Cassia (Emily Browning), a wealthy merchant's daughter. However, their difference in social status is not the only obstacle to their love;  Cassia has been promised to Corvus (Kiefer Sutherland), a corrupt Roman senator. When the eruption of Mount Vesuvius rains lava and ash down on the city, Milo races to save her before it's too late. My spare time used to consist of reading and pretty much nothing else; depression pretty much killed that (and spare time suddenly became something I didn’t want, but that’s another story) so these days my spare time is still about reading but also loud and brash movies where I don’t have to think too much. Films like ‘Pompeii’ funnily enough. It’s not the review I wanted to kick things off with but it’s the movie that I watched last night (thank you Amazon ‘New and Used’…) so h

That Difficult First Post...

First things first... No I'm not going to tell you how this blog got its name. Not that I don't want to, it was a condition of me using this name that I promised I'd never tell anyone else why... Intrigued? You're intrigued. Why am I starting a blog though? That I can tell you. Once upon a time there was a chap (me) who, after a horrible three or four years, got himself a nice little flat and filled it full of books, graphic novels and DVDs (sort of like a library...) And Lego mini-figures but you can't really blog about them. But anyway... To stop himself just watching Youtube until he fell asleep every night, our hero decided to blog about all the books, graphic novels and DVDs that he had collected. 'Lord Samper's Library' is where you can read all about what I'm reading, watching and so on... Some of it will be brand new, some of it will be older and some of it may have you thinking 'I'd forgotten all about that...' I'm
