Watching Stuff, Not Reading Stuff.

I've got a hospital appointment (another one) this afternoon and I'll be honest, this one has been playing on my mind a fair bit. I'm in a bit of a weird spot you see, the Doctor has said that something isn't quite right, they're just taking a little while to figure out what the issue actually is. Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious... :o) But anyway, you don't really want to know about all that. Lets just say that I couldn't concentrate on any books so I watched a load of telly instead, that worked a lot better for me :o) Let me quickly tell you about the movies I got through... 'The Day of the Triffids' (1963) After an unusual meteor shower leaves most of the human population blind, a merchant navy officer must find a way to conquer tall, aggressive walking plants that feed on people and animals. If the blurb wasn't enough of a clue, I'll tell you now that this isn't a particularly faithful retelling of the book. Actually, it...

Australia has so far remained unscathed through a brutal border protection policy and internment facilities. Derek Jones and the High Risk Response Unit restore order to the internment facilities when law and order breaks down. When the arrival of a mysterious girl collides with the uprising at the Briar's Hill Detention Centre, will Australia, the last hope for many, finally fall? I'm not going to lie, a lot of this movie's budget clearly...

Movie Night! 'Damn, that was a week...' Edition

Don't get me wrong, I love my job (and it still surprises me that I'd say that about any job...) but when things kick off, it can all get intense very, very quickly... So it was then that I got to the end of the day (yesterday) and realised that I was too wiped out to even pick a book up, let alone read anything. Luckily for me, I've got a Prime Video watch list that is just brimming over with a whole bunch of stuff, that I keep meaning to watch, and... Here I am :o) Let me tell you about what I watched and how at least one movie was verging on awful but that was ok... 'Battle: Los Angeles' (2011) A squad of U.S. Marines becomes the last line of defense against a global invasion... Is that enough blurb to carry an entire film for an hour and fifty six minutes? The answer is a resounding 'Nope' but 'Battle: Los Angeles' goes ahead and does it anyway and the result is pretty much what you'd expect; about fifteen minutes worth of plot that gets s...
