What I'll be reading in August... ('Really, Really Need To Do Better This Time' Edition)

And all of a sudden, while my back was turned, it was suddenly August... Damn, this year is going quickly which isn't so good for all my work deadlines but it does mean that my 'End of Year Review' took place and I have another year before I have to go through all that messing about again. It went okay by the way, no big surprises which is always good; fingers crossed for a better year workwise though... This last year hasn't been the best, for that, so at least the only way I can go now is up ;o)

Another month has gone by so that means I also get to look back at the last month's reading and see how I did (what I said I'd read vs. what I actually read). The honest, and short, answer? Bloody dreadful... It's not like I didn't get any reading done, I got loads done. Scroll down and see for yourself ;o) It's just that out of everything I said I'd read, back at the beginning of July, I only managed to read the one book. 'The Righteous', just in case you were wondering, which was bloody brilliant (and everyone should be reading it) but what happened to the rest...? Well, I'm reading 'Entombed' at the moment but yeah, July wasn't a great month for making good on 'reading promises' :o( So what happened? It was a mixture of work and home stuff really, loads to deal with and not quite enough Graeme to go round. Situations like this leave me wanting to read books that I actually want to read, not books that I feel I should be reading. I've always been like this when things have got stressful and that's just the way it goes I guess. Lets see how things go this month, shall we...? I'm going easy on myself with what should hopefully be a more manageable TBR Pile...

This is the big one for August, if I read this and nothing else then I think I'll be doing very well ;o) I've got a day without the kids on Friday so the plan is to settle down with a cup of coffee and see where this book takes me.

I'm not going to lie, this is a bit of a 'cheats picture' as I've been dipping in and out of these over the last few days. I don't care though :o) If I can feel like I've made a little dent in the TBR Pile then that's a good thing. I'm furthest along with 'Vengeful Spirit' but 'Entombed' is a slim little book so that's more likely to feature here first.

It will be good if I get round to these but not a huge deal if I don't. 'The Gunslinger' is on the pile after watching 'The Dark Tower' the other day :o)
And last but not least...

At this stage, I have to ask myself whether I'll actually pick 'Dannus' up again but I'm feeling bloody-minded so on the pile it goes. And I'm adding 'Tros' just because it was there and I really need to start finishing books off before I buy new ones (he says...) I need a bit of 'barbarian' action and I think this could be what I'm after...

That's the plan for this month then, how about you? What books do you finally plan on getting round to this month?
