A New TBR Pile... 'Three Day Weekend' Edition!

I love a Bank Holiday weekend, especially after I've just spent a fairly stressful three weeks in charge of my team at work... I know it's tempting fate to say this but... I'm really glad that's done and that my boss will be back in the office next week. Yep, I said it :o)

This Bank Holiday weekend has come at just the right time then. And what does this Graeme do when he has a little extra time on his hands...? Yep, exactly right, I took a little time out last night, to pick a few books that I'd like to take a shot at. I owed it to myself ;o) Lets take a look, shall we?

This time round, I'm going for quick reads balanced out by a book that is ideal for what I'm hoping is a Bank Holiday where I just camp out in the comfy chair, all day long (it might happen). And it's not the book that you think it is ;o)

This TBR pile is a little 'Doctor Who' heavy but they're fun reads and a great way to feel like I'm making inroads into a much larger TBR Pile. One is a favourite episode from the new(er) series while  the other is much older, 'haven't read it since primary school' old (so, pretty old then). You don't need me to tell you which is which.

'Come Closer' is a book that I've had my eye on for a while and then, the other day, found that I had the points (on my Waterstones card) to pick up without bothering my wallet. I'm a couple of chapters in and its looking very promising so far. I know exactly where it's headed but, that's the whole point of the book so I'm very cool with that.

Now, I'm guessing you're looking at the picture and thinking 'damn, Graeme has a book on his hands with that Aliens Omnibus...' Sorry to disappoint you but I'm only tackling the first book ('Earth Hive') this time round. The 'big read' is going to be 'The Charnel Prince', I really enjoyed my time with 'The Briar King' so 'The Charnel Prince' didn't need to do too much to grab a place here.

And that's it, I'm off to grab some sleep and then see what the weekend has in store. Do any of these books catch your eye and make you think, 'Graeme should read that one first'? I'm not promising I will but, leave a comment and let me know.
