It's not hard (at all), I just really needed a title for this post... ;o)
Last week was an intense one but I got through it, yay me :o) Next week is looking like more of the same (hospital appointments along with some other stuff) but I'm feeling pretty good about my chances, I've got this ;o)
I'm not quite there yet though, I still have a habit of promising myself books if I make it through a week and, if I'm caught between two tough weeks... I end up buying a few more than I probably should have done. It really is time for the 'one in, one out' policy to be implemented. That's not for today though (not when I've my kids coming over later). No, lets take a look at the books that came home with me over the last few days...
I'd already had some anxiety over going back into the office so, last week, I sweetened the deal with the promise of a 'Robin of Sherwood' book if I made it in. And I did so, here we are :o) I'd always thought that there was only the one 'Robin of Sherwood' book so finding a copy of 'The Hounds of Lucifer' was a nice little surprise. I really need to space out my 'Warhammer 40k' reading so don't be too surprised if 'The Hounds of Lucifer' makes an appearance in the near future.
And, talking of 'Warhammer 40k' reading... ;o)
The 'Siege of Terra' is well and truly done now but to no-one's surprise, there are still some novellas in need of being collected. Enter 'The Shattered and the Souless' ;o) I'm not sure when I'll get to it but I missed the novellas, first time round, so made sure to grab the book when I saw it.
I do have some issues with the way Black Library does its business (especially as someone who really should have kept on top of the 'Horus Heresy' series as it was published...) but one thing they do well is publishing omnibus editions of old series, saving your wallet when trying to find single issues. Enter the 'Vaults of Terra' collection. I'm looking forward to getting into this and, hopefully, finally finishing the series this time.
I've still got a lot of 'Gotrek' (Old World & Age of Sigmar) to read but I've had my eye out for 'Verminslayer' for a while so that followed me home too ;o)
And 'The Dropsite Massacre'... I'm still not a hundred percent sure that we need a whole book about this but John French is swiftly becoming a 'favourite Black Library auther' so I'll give the book the benefit of the doubt... For now ;o) This book has proved to be difficult to track down so when I saw it on Amazon the other day... I'll be honest, I clicked 'Buy Now' without thinking too much about it.
That's your lot for now, anything here caught your eye? Leave a comment and let me know ;o)
