Books that I'm reading and books that I want to read...
The last few weeks haven't been great for reading but I have managed to get a few comics and a couple of books under my belt. I'm going to have to space posts out a bit (things are still very busy what with one thing and everything else...) but posts will happen ;o)
In the meantime, I've got a few books on the go along with some others that I'd like to get to sooner rather than later (we'll see how that goes). Lets take a look, shall we? Apologies in advance for the photos...
I am reading the 'Siege of Terra' books completely out of order, more or less based on whatever cover happens to catch my eye ;o) 'Mortis' has a massive Titan, attacking the walls of the Imperial Palace, so there was no contest really. It has been a slog to get through, more on that another time, but I'm on the home straight and the plan is to finish it today, Fingers crossed and all that ;o)
'Fifteen Hours' is in this pile as the Book Stooge had things to say about it, back in June, and I thought it was time I had a read myself. And it has been an absolute age since I last read 'The Briar King' (it feels like it anyway) and I figured that if I don't pick it up now, I never will.
'Callis & Toll' is a long overdue read that I'd been waiting for in paperback (for a long time now), only to find that it was in paperback the whole time. Serves me right for just looking on Amazon, I won't make that mistake again. 'Callis & Toll' is a slowburner but I'm confident that it will pick up and David Annandale has a keen eye for horror, in his Warhammer books, so I've got high hopes here.
And 'The Bachman Books'... 'The Long Walk' and 'The Running Man' movies are either here, or about to arrive, so it's time to revisit the original tales.
And a couple of quick reads, one of which I'll definitely be reading today, after I finish off 'Mortis'. I've never read anything by Jack Ketchum and while 'Ladies Night' may not be the obvious place to start , it was the book that caught my eye so here we are ;o)
And I've been enjoying Scott Oden's blog so thought I'd check out one of his books. 'The White Lion' is that very book and it's a short one too so likely to feature here sooner than some of the other books here.
And one more read... I generally miss out on 'Themed Reading Months' (I can never trust myself to stick to them) but 'Cimmerian September' is very much my thing and I've got the latest 'Conan' trade, from Titan, all ready to go; hopefully to be followed up by a tale or two from REH.
And that's it for now ;o) 'Mortis' is the current read, likely to be followed by 'The White Lion'; is there anything else here that you'd like me to bump up the pile?
