More Movies...
I didn't manage to read an awful lot, over the weekend, but my comfy chair was still exactly the right place to try and make a little dent in my Prime watchlist so... That's what I did :o) My watchlist has a habit of continuing to grow, no matter how many films I get through (I wonder how that happens...?) but I did get through a few. Let me tell you about them...
'Robocroc' (2013)
'Anonymous Animals' (2020)
The balance of power, between humans and animals, has shifted and in the depths of the countryside, this plays out in particularly brutal ways...
One of those films where I know nothing about it other than that it has a cool title and that's why I'm watching it. And then the next thing I know, I've watched the whole thing without even thinking about it. I'll be honest, I don't think it's as clever as it wants to be but the no holds barred delivery makes up for a lot and makes for a compelling watch. Bit of a random choice but I'm glad I went for it.
Nanobots, from a crashed rocket, infect a crocodile... and give it an upgrade. Now, it's a bad time to go to the zoo or the water park. Helicopters aren't safe either.
Because I was feeling rotten (chemotherapy tablets) and just wanted something that I could stick my brain in neutral and just let it happen to me. You know those films ;o)
'Robocroc' did exactly what I asked of it. If you ask me about it in a weeks time, I doubt I could tell you much more than that there's a robot crocodile but that's kind of the point really, isn't it? Forgettable, but fun :o)
'Darkman' (1990)
A brilliant scientist left for dead returns to have his revenge on the gang that burned him alive.
Because it has been almost thirty years since I last saw 'Darkman' and I was in need of a little nostalgia. I'd forgotten how much I love this movie, it is so much fun :o) And that's it really. Liam Neeson chews the scenery like you wouldn't believe and for guy who has burns over 40% of his body, he is remarkably focussed on delivering justice in all manner of disguises. The action doesn't stop but there's still time for a Bruce Campbell cameo to round things off. I really mustn't leave it so long until the next time I watch 'Darkman'.
'Zombeavers' (2014)
When there's no more room in hell, the dead will swim in the lake by a cabin where a group of college students are taking a weekend break...
Further proof that I will (re)watch anything with zombies and a little punning on the side ;o) It was a rewatch, so I knew what I was letting myself in for, but still as much fun as ever and the movie makes it a fair distance on the back of one little play on words.
