Books for the TBR Pile... 'Yep, still on call' Edition
Not for much longer though, just a couple more days and my three weeks on call will be done and I can concentrate on having a nice week off with my daughters. They want me to take them ice-skating, and if you've ever seen me on the ice... You'll know it's not going to end well :o)
Anyway... You're not here for that are you? The title does say 'Books for the TBR Pile...' after all.
You know how it goes. I should try and put up more of a fight but I will always end up in a bookshop, charity shop or at a market stall if I'm passing through. Here are some books that made it home with me...
I found the three 'Doctor Who' books while having browse over the bookstall on Greenwich Market. They're nice, short reads so it's likely you'll see them feature sooner rather than later. And the 'El Sombra' trilogy came from the Oxfam bookshop next door. I read these way back in the day and I know they're good fun so I thought it was time for a re-read :o) I'm not a hundred percent sure quite when that re-read will happen though, might be more of a summer holiday read, we'll see.
And 'The Best of Tomes of the Dead', 'Stronghold' and 'Viking Dead'... Abaddon Books were great for publishing '21st Century Pulp Fiction' a few years ago (I'm not sure if they still do?) and that included their 'Tomes of the Dead' zombie series. I was after some fun zombie reads so these three books pretty much chose themselves.
I've been watching 'The Walking Dead' with my eldest daughter and it reminded me of my vague plans to replace my old collection (which didn't survive my last move) and re-read the series. I found these three books on eBay and, well, here they are :o)
That's it, for this week anyway :o) Anything here catch your eye?
