I've been looking after my ex's pets, this week, while her and the girls are away. Now the rabbit is lovely, always up for having a fuss made of her, but the cat... That cat hates me although to be fair, I did put her through some stress when I called the emergency vet out for no good reason (I thought she'd eaten ibuprofen), she has never forgotten it. This last week has been full of her finding a quiet corner to glare at me from, or full on hissing if I get too close. She has also figured out what a 'dirty protest' is and that I'll have to clear it up... I am so glad that my ex, and the girls, are back today so I can get back to mine :o)
Anyway... Yesterday, I thought I'd give the cat a little space (I've been looking after the house as well) and took myself to Greenwich Market for a spot of shopping and a bite to eat. I wasn't specifically looking to come back with books but funnily enough...
There's a book stall, on the market, that has started putting out the old 'Doctor Who' Target novelizations (I think the lady running the stall saw me coming...) and I had to grab these three once I saw them. I've already mentioned the TV serials for 'Planet of the Spiders' and 'The Planet of the Daleks' here but had to grab the books anyway ;o) I'm very much about short reads right now so don't be too surprised to see these (and other 'Doctor Who' books that I haven't got to yet) pop up here sooner rather than later.

Right next to the book stall is an actual bookshop with a table full of old sci-fi books from the 1960s through to the 1980s. And yes, it felt weird saying that 1980s sci-fi feels old now. Times like this, I realise that I am not growing old gracefully... Anyway :o) I picked up 'The Best of' book as it has the short story 'Eight O'clock in the morning' and I've always fancied reading it as I love 'They Live' and the Stephen King short story 'The Ten O'clock People' (both of which were inspired by 'Eight O'clock in the morning'. 'Lord of Excess' was actually waiting for me when I got home, I just felt a little weird about leaving it out (don't ask me why).
And that's your lot for this week, book-wise anyway. Anything here catch your eye?
