Reading Plans for the Weekend...

So I'm on call this weekend, for work, which means that I can't go too far away from the flat, just in case the phone rings. Seriously... The last time I went into town when I was on call, I ended up taking a Major Incident call in the Children's Section of Waterstones Piccadilly; luckily my youngest daughter was having a browse so I got away with it :o)

Anyway... I'm not making that mistake again so I've resolved to sit in my living room and read while I wait and see if the phone rings. Here's what I'm planning on reading...

With only a hundred and sixty three pages to go, 'Into the Narrowdark' is the priority read and I reckon I might even finish it today :o) It's not a bad book at all, I just haven't had the time or focus to really get into it. I'm hoping that today will be different. And 'Mortis'? I gave it a few pages the other day and the next thing I knew, I was really into it. If I finish 'Into the Narrowdark' then, I'll be continuing with 'Mortis'.

And I feel like I haven't read many short stories recently so that's where 'Nightfall' and 'Cthulhu's Reign' come in. I'm only after one short story from 'Nightfall' (an old favourite of mine) but 'Cthulhu's Reign' might be one where I go through the whole book, I'm not sure yet.

And I never hang around too long when there's a new 'Conan' book so here we are with 'Frozen Faith'. Actually, this might be my first read of the weekend, hmmm....

And that's my reading for the weekend, lets see how I do ;o) How about you? What are you going to be reading?

  1. Cthulhu's Reign had some really good stories in it. While I gave the overall collection 3.5stars, several of the individual stories stuck out to me, which isn't usually the case. I hope you enjoy the anthology.

As for the Narrow Dark, just do it ;-) Read that sucker into submission...

And 'Cthulhu's Reign' will be a re-read. I'm after something that I know I'll enjoy and I'm with you, there were some excellent stories in the anthology.
