Books for the TBR Pile... 'Quiet' Edition

The last week has been a quiet one, as far as the ongoing hunt for books goes, and you know what? That's not a bad thing sometimes, especially seeing as once again, small piles of books are starting to spring up around the flat. My attention has been elsewhere this week, that's the long and short of it. There have been some new arrivals though, of course there has ;o) A bargain, a 'must purchase' and a long overdue read. Lets take a look at them...

Not the best picture I've ever taken but I think you get a decent idea of just how gorgeous the cover art is for both books. I already have the three books collected in 'The White Wolf' ('The Dreamthief's Daughter', 'The Skrayling Tree' and 'The White Wolf's Son') but this edition looks amazing and was on sale at a fraction of the cost that you normally see it go for. I couldn't resist it and I'll be honest, I didn't try that hard ;o)

And 'The Company of the Wolf' was a treat for myself as it has been another week at work where a little treat was necessary (I won't bore you with the details). I'm a few pages in and should hopefully be a lot further along by the end of the day. It's looking good so far!

And Clive Barker's 'Cabal' (otherwise known as 'Nightbreed' if you've seen the movie) is a book that I've been meaning to pick up for years but somehow never quite got round to; that's the way it goes sometimes ;o) I'm not sure what prompted me to finally order myself a copy, this week, but here we are. This will probably end up being a bus read at some point, just not a hundred percent sure when that will be.

That's your lot for this week, I told you it had been a quiet one :o) What books have you picked up?

  1. That Elric cover looks very similar to the original White Wolf publishing ones from the 80's and 90's. Those were all beautiful!

    1. I don't think I've ever seen a White Wolf edition in the flesh (in the, erm... paper?) but from what I've seen online, they look lovely :o)
