Books for the TBR Pile... 'Sorry About The Blog Silence...' Edition

Like the title says... Sorry about that! Work went a bit mad on Friday (well, more like batshit crazy...), so much so that I ended up having to dedicate a small chunk of weekend to tying up all the loose ends. When I wasn't doing that, I was either painting 'Age of Sigmar' figures with my youngest daughter or sitting in the pub, waiting for her mate's birthday party to finish up... Which wasn't bad actually (the painting and the pub, not the birthday party...) And I'll be honest with you, I've got a week off with my daughters, this week, so I really wouldn't expect too many book reviews, maybe one if you're lucky. We'll see ;o)

In the meantime then, and while I try and figure out if I can balance blogging with summer holiday stuff, lets take a look at some of the books that came home with me this week. There are no Guy N. Smith books this time round but there are still other cool books to take a look at, let me show you...

I found these in the Greenwich Oxfam yesterday. While I'm reasonably sure that I don't have a copy of 'The Rituals of Infinity' (well, I do now but you know what I mean...), I'm not 100% sure about 'The Sword of the Dawn'. I am rubbish at collecting 'The History of the Runestaff', in these editions, and may well have just bought yet another copy of 'The Sword of the Dawn'. Or maybe not and this is the first one, we'll see (to be honest, I'm not hopeful).

Another Greenwich Oxfam find... I've never read anything by Saberhagen but these covers looked gorgeous and to be honest, I'll read anything that has 'Swords' in the title ;o) Has anyone else read this series? And what would I be missing if I went straight from the first book to the third...?

Not a Greenwich Oxfam find... After reading 'Brak vs. The Sorceress' not so long ago, I was all keen to get going on 'The Mark of the Demons' but couldn't find my copy anywhere. It got to the point where I was starting to wonder I'd even owned another copy, in the first place, so I thought instead of faffing about, just order another one off Amazon for pennies. Which I duly did and guess what happened...? Yep, I now own two copies of 'The Mark of the Demons'... Oh well, I like this cover better than the other one ;o)

And last but not least... Darius Hinks cannot write a bad Warhammer novel (it has been scientifically proven) so when I saw 'Dominion' in the Warhammer shop, I made sure that a copy came home with me. And 'One Word Kill'... The last of the Greenwich Oxfam purchases (literally, I saw it on the way out of the shop and had to go back in and get it) and a book that has nudged it's way up the TBR pile. Just a couple of others that I need to read first.

And that's your lot for today. Anything here catching your eye? Are the 'Swords' books any good? Leave a comment and let me know.
