After another intense week, I decided to give myself the day off... So of course I ended up going book shopping ;o) More on that tomorrow. For now though, I thought I'd allow myself another recycled post from way back when ( Sunday, 21st July 2013 to be precise) and yep, it's another Robert E. Howard short story. I'm bringing them back here so they don't get lost on a old, dead blog... ;o) Apparently, I found 'The Garden of Fear' in a copy of 'Conan's Brethren', I've got no idea if I still have it... I'm going to have to have a look for it. While I do that... It really shouldn't do but it still always surprises me just how much Robert E. Howard wrote in his relatively short life. Everyone here should know by now that Howard was about far more than Conan, Solomon Kane and even Kull. I just didn't realise that there were a whole load of short stories completely unconnected to any of his main characters; at least until I was looking at ...

While I try and figure out what else to post today (or I could just leave it, lets just see how the rest of the day pans out...), check out the trailer for 'Late Night with the Devil'... 'Late Night with the Devil' opens in cinemas later this month and I was going to wait for this one to hit 'Shudder' but the more I watch the trailer, the more I find myself leaning towards seeing this one at the cinema. 'Possession Movies' are nothing new but this one looks very intriguing... What do you reckon?

Page Count: 219 Pages I’m pretty rubbish at staying all caught up with ‘Doctor Who’ on the TV; I can’t even remember when the David Tennant specials were aired but I finally managed to get round to watching them, on DVD, over Christmas and… I thought they were really good :o) This probably isn’t the post to go into that in too much detail but to cut a long story short, the specials resolved a lot of stuff with Donna and gave David Tennant’s Doctor the send off that he deserved. You can’t ask for a lot more than that really, can you? Each of the stories had a lot going for it but ‘The Giggle’ was the one that really caught my attention so naturally, that was the first book I picked up when they were released. It felt like a good book to dive into yesterday, both for the commute and chipping away at the ol’ reading slump. I was rooting through my bookshelves last night, trying to find something for the commute in the morning, and came across my old copy of ‘The Rising’ which I’d read a few months ago, popped in a box for the big move, and then promptly forgotten about. To be fair, the last three months have been crazy but, I’m here now and ready to make up for lost time ;o) I’ve been reading my old ‘Leisure Fiction’ edition, if I knew where my Kindle was (there are still boxes that I haven’t unpacked yet…) I’d have gone for the ‘Authors Preferred Edition’ which is what you should look for if you want to give ‘The Rising’ a go. I'm slap bang in the middle of a massive reading slump at the moment, I've got loads of books that I could be reading but nothing that I pick up is really grabbing me. And that's on me, not the books; there's a lot going on and it's really annoying that the one thing guaranteed to cheer me up isn't doing it. Oh well, I'll keep plugging away and see if anything changes. In the meantime though... What does that mean for the blog? I want to talk about stuff that I enjoy, not a whole load of 'did not finish the book' that isn't actually the book's fault. I'm not sure at the moment (ideas range from talking TV shows to just pausing the blog for a bit and taking a break) but for today, I'm grabbing a review from an older blog and posting it here. Robert Holdstock's 'Mythago Wood' to be exact. I haven't got the energy to sit down and read 'Mythago Wood' right now but it will always be a book that deserves to be notice...
