Oh Look, A TBR Pile...
Apologies for the lack of blogging yesterday! I'll be honest... After a spirited defense, this week finally got the better of me on Thursday night. Whatever book I was reading at the time (I can't remember), I just put it down and went to bed. And that left me with nothing to post about yesterday but you know what? Sometimes that's ok :o) I don't think I touched a book yesterday but that was ok too; I spent some proper quality time with my daughters and hung out with the kitten while she was coming off her anaesthetic (she had 'that' operation). The kitten is fine by the way, just really drugged up and a little more unpredictable than usual...
It seemed like a good time then to have a little re-set of the ol' TBR pile and set some reading goals for the next few weeks. Notice I said 'weeks'... I got a little carried away, browsing the bookshelves, and there's no way that I'm going to finish this little lot anytime soon (especially as I'll be back at work next week, dammit...) Let's take a look,
Actually, it's not as daunting as it looks... ;o) 'In A Lonely Place' and 'On the Shoulders of Giants' are included for specific short stories that I want to read, I won't be reading the whole book(s) in one sitting. 'Huron Blackheart: Master of the Maelstrom' looks to be a fairly quick read (one that I'll be taking to my hospital appointment on Monday) and 'The Briar King' is an old favourite of mine that is overdue a re-read.
'City of the Dead' and 'Nightblood' are books that just happened to catch my eye and I'll be honest, they're books for a little later down the line. Or maybe, I'll find myself reading one over this weekend... I can't seem to settle on a book right now. You can't go wrong with some 'Conan' though and I haven't read a bad 'Valancourt' book yet, so either way, it should be good ;o)
This one's a little more straightforward :o) I started watching the Final Season of 'The Boys', on Wednesday, so it wasn't much of a leap to pop the first Omnibus Collection on the TBR Pile. I may even finally get round to reading the rest of the series, we'll see ;o)
'The Savage Sword of Conan Vol.2' was another fairly easy choice, given that I've finally read Vol.1, and depending what today throws at me, I wouldn't be surprised if this book was a 'Saturday Read'. Same kind of deal with 'Die!Die!Die! Vol.2'. I enjoyed Vol.1, even if I was playing 'catch-up' for most of it, so grabbed Vol.2 when I saw it in Waterstones.
Anything here catch your eye? Leave a comment and let me know.

The Boys are on their final season? How long has that show been around? I feel like I've seen it on Prime forever.
ReplyDeleteand good on you all for getting the cat fixed. There's too many people who never deal with that and then the feral cat population grows and there is ZERO need for that :-(
I've never read anything by Keyes before. Do you have a recommendation on where to start with him? He's one of those guys I always think I should "try" but just never get around to it.
