Books for the TBR Pile... 'Bank Holiday Weekend' Edition

What does a Graeme do when all parental responsibilities up sticks and go off for a week in France...? Why, he goes book-shopping of course, and on a particularly sunny weekend as well. Honestly, it was pretty much perfect ;o) And as far as the actual book hunting went? Well... Sometimes the hunt doesn't really lead anywhere and that's just the way it goes. This weekend wasn't one of those times though ;o) I turned up some little beauties, take a look...

Notting Hill Comic Exchange is always a safe bet for good books and true to form, it didn't let me down :o) Someone's collection of old-school pulp fantasy had found it's way there so I helped myself to a few books including these Robert E. Howard books. I'm particularly looking forward to reading 'Three Bladed Doom'.

I've been enjoying my 'Occasional Brak Re-Read' so I thought I'd see what else John Jakes had to offer. 'The Planet Wizard' is a bit of a cheat as that is on my Dad's shelves (and I read it way, way back in the day). 'Mention My Name In Atlantis' though... I'd never heard of it so had to pick it up. Reviews to come as and when I get round to these books (they're not priority reads, more 'work is killing me so I need a little pick-me-up'...)

And I'll be honest, I bought this one purely for the awesome looking warrior on the cover. If he's not in this book, I won't be happy... ;o)

And then it was off to Bromley today where I found 'Soul Stealers' in the British Heart Foundation shop. I've got a copy of 'Kell's Legend' lurking about, in a TBR pile somewhere, and my completist instincts made me pick it up. I still need to (re)read 'Kell's Legend' but when I do, this will be next in the queue.

And 'Scratchman'... Who is not going to pick up a 'Doctor Who' book written by Tom Baker? Yes it came home with me and yes, I started reading it on the bus home ;o) I reckon there'll be a review coming along fairly soon.

And that's your lot for this week :o) Anything there take your fancy? Leave a comment and let me know...
