Another Random TBR Pile...
It's been another monster of a week but I did round it off, yesterday, with a days leave and a trip to the cinema (with my eldest daughter) to see 'Clown in a Cornfield' and that made up for a lot :o) For the record... I'm not the target audience (by about roughly 35 years) but 'Clown in a Cornfield' was still a lot of fun with a twist that I didn't see coming and the kind of death scenes that make me chuckle. Can't ask for a lot more than that really ;o) Now I need to dig out my copy of the book and read it, just so I can chat about it with my eldest.
In the meantime, there are probably things that I need to do today but I'll be honest, I'm going to sit in my comfy chair all day and read. I feel like I deserve it ;o) I'm not a hundred percent sure over what I'll be reading though, here's a 'Random TBR Pile' that I put together yesterday...
There will be a number of short stories read this weekend, which is about all my focus is good for. There's plenty to choose from here though, we'll see how it goes. Special mention goes to 'Master of the Dark Gate' which is so beaten up that it surely only has one read left in it before it falls to pieces. And 'Planet of the Daleks' is a safe bet, for a read, as well. If I'm up for something a little chunkier, that's where 'Cult of the Obsidian Moon' and 'The Gunslinger' may well come in.
Have you read the Gunslinger series before? I tried the first book years ago when the series was all the rage and while I finished that book, I gave up in disgust. I've wondered since then if I should retry the series as a whole or not.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. Comfy chair sounds wonderful :-)
I've read the series but not for years; I enjoyed it overall but it is a real mixed bag. The next couple of books after 'The Gunslinger' are real favourites of mine but the couple after that, not as much. And the final book... You will either love the risk that King takes (I did) or it will turn you off the whole series. It's that polarising ;o)
